Tens of thousands of public servants haven't been paid today.
Gardaí, nurses, prison officers, transport workers and teachers are among those whose salaries haven't arrived in their bank accounts.
Bank of Ireland has apologised for the error and says workers who didn't get their wages will receive them by tomorrow morning at the latest.
Both Bank of Ireland and AIB say customers who incur any late payment fees as a result of the error will be refunded in full.
