Dundrum is to follow in the footsteps of another south Dublin village and become one-way.

The temporary measure will see one lane of traffic removed from Sandyford Road onto Main Street as far as the Lidl car park.

Kilmacud Road Upper will be made one-way also for traffic moving in an westerly direction.

It will create extra space for pedestrians and cyclists as part of a mobility plan being introduced by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

However some parking spaces and bus stops will be relocated to facilitate the changes.

Works are expected to start at the end of July and will take approximately five weeks to complete.

Similar changes were introduced in Blackrock Village in response to Covid-19.
