Dublin City Centre Deemed A 'Dirty Old Town'

Dublin is once again being called a Dirty Old Town.

The city centre and the north inner city were ranked among the dirtiest in the latest Irish Business Against Litter survey with the ranking of 'littered'.

Tallaght and Ballymun were 'moderately littered' while the area near Dublin Airport was deemed clean

Maynooth in Kildare came out as the cleanest town in Ireland with Dundalk being the filthiest.

Conor Horgan spokesperson with IBAL says the rankings are consistent.

''There is generally a great consistency with the towns at the top of the rankings and that's the same with the towns at the bottom of the rankings. It's Dublin North Inner City. Cork Noritsde, Dublin City Centre. The big disappointment is Dundalk which was a past winner and it's now seriously littered and at the very foot of our table.''
