DNA tests carried out on a pelvis, arm and dismembered leg found at a recycling plant in Dublin show that the limbs belong to a male.

On Thursday, workers at Thornton's Recycling Plant in Ballyfermot discovered a human leg.

Further searches carried out by investigators resulted in a pelvis being found.

Yesterday, a number of other items, some of which are believed to be human flesh and bones were recovered in the search.

Investigations are continuing and the race, nationality, age or cause of the death of the male are not yet known.

The services of a forensic anthropologist have also been requested.
