The next phase of a city centre repaving scheme is due to get underway.
It includes making the Chatham Street area more pedestrian friendly.
The repaving of Grafton Street is almost complete with the work set to be finished in mid November.
Now a 3 million euro expansion of the plan is due to be presented to Dublin City Council within weeks.
Work on Chatham street, Chatham Lane, Balfe Street, Harry Street, Swan Lane, and parts of Wicklow Street is expected to start in January.
In addition to laying new stone surface, the streets will be planted with trees and flowers and will have new seating areas to make it more pedestrian friendly.
The work will be phased so businesses can remain open and a traffic management plan will be put in place.
