The principal of a Cabra school, waiting 20 years for proper buildings, has hit out at the Department of Education.

Work is only getting underway now at Gaelscoil Bharra on Fassaugh Avenue, despite permission being granted in 2001.

Sean O'Donghaile says there has been political will to get rid of the prefabs, but no progress for years.

He said:

'most politicians over the years have supported the school. The blame lies with the department of education. There is no communication. There is very little accountability, nobody takes responsibility and we have found them over the years very difficult to deal with. '
