The Taoiseach has fired the starting gun for the election.
Enda Kenny is now on his way to Áras an Uachataráin to ask President Michael D Higgins to dissolve the Dáil.
Polling day has been set for Friday the 26th of February, as expected. Election posters can now be erected.
So prepare for even more knocks on your door as the General Election gets underway!
