The US Congress has pulled the country back from an economic abyss.
Both the Senate and the House of Representatives have voted in favour of a deal to avoid a hugely-damaging default by raising the so-called debt ceiling.
It's also ended the shutdown which has left hundreds of thousands of federal workers on unpaid leave.
Barack Obama has signed the legislation into law - he says Congress must put its differences aside.
