AIB is in talks with 6 property developers to finance more than 5000 homes in Dublin.
It's in a bid to kickstart construction and provide housing for first time buyers.
The new homes will be a mix of houses and apartments.
AIB is also in talks with Dublin City Council around any potential planning issues.
