Over 9 in 10 employees are in favour of a form of working from home.

A study by NUI Galway shows more than half would like to work from home several times a week, while around a third would like to fully work remotely.

In the survey, 14% who responded say they would consider moving house if remote working was to stay.

While just under 1 in 10 say they have already relocated - with the west, south-west or border region proving the most popular.

It follows an Ibec study yesterday which found nearly a third of businesses believe employees would prefer a hybrid working model.

This would mean they spend at least 2 days in the office.

The Ibec survey also found 1 in 5 businesses would be ready to welcome employees back to the office in the next three months - if government guidelines allowed for it.
