Nine thousand people were reported missing in Ireland last year, that's around one every hour, every day.
The Minister for Justice will host Ireland's annual Missing Persons Day ceremony later at Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park.
The event commemorates those who've disappeared and also recognises the lasting trauma for family and friends.
The majority of people who go missing are found alive and well, but around 100 people remain untraced in the past 12 months.
