13 intensive care units nationally are full, while there are 30 adult ICU beds available.

1,700 with Covid-19 are in hospitals this morning - the highest number since the pandemic began.

In the past 24 hours there have been a record number of admissions and discharges to and from hospital related to Covid-19.

1,700 patients are on wards this morning - almost double the peak of the first wave, which was 881 on April 15th.

At Capacity

According to HSE figures last night, there are 13 intensive care units at capacity nationally, while there are just 30 adult ICU beds free.

In total there are 267 patients receiving critical care - 143 of whom have tested positive for Covid-19.

The HSE says it has the ability to create more ICU beds through surge capacity and via the private hospitals.
