107 People Robbed In Dublin Every Day

People are more likely to be robbed in Dublin than any other part of the country.

New stats show that one hundred and 7 people are the victims of theft every day in the city.

According to figures in the Hearld people living in central parts of Dublin are 60 times more likely to be the victim of a theft than in other parts of Ireland.

So far this years a total of 19560 incidents have been recorded, which works out at around 107 thefts every day.

The crimes that are carried out include car theft, interfering with a vehicle, bicycle theft, pickpocketing, bag snatching, stealing from a person or shop or handling stolen goods.

The highest rate is in and around the city centre covered by Pearse Street garda station followed by the Store Street area.
