We could have another Irish man take on the iconic role!

Paul Mescal is reportedly “in talks” to become the next James Bond.

Daniel Craig finished up his stint as the famous British spy with No Time To Die, released in 2021.

And we’ve been waiting and waiting since then to find out who will be the next 007!

There’s been lots of rumours as to who will take over the role from Daniel Craig. Popular choices were Aaron Taylor Johnson and Bridgerton actor Regé-Jean Page.

It had been reported that Aaron Taylor Johnson (known for Kick Ass and Bullet Train) was top of famous Bond producer Barbara Broccoli's list.

But the newest report is that our own Paul Mescal is very much in the running!

According to the Sun, the Maynooth man is in talks to play James Bond in the next instalment which could feature two different Bonds - one young and one old.

Paul Mescal has been questioned before on whether he’d be up for the role of James Bond.

“Would I play Bond? Yeah? I don’t know. If it ever came my way, we’d have a discussion about it. I don’t know. I don’t want to say yes or no. I am a massive fan, and will continue to be, regardless.”

His All Of Us Strangers costar Andrew Scott gave his support.

“He'd probably be a great James Bond," he told Variety at the weekend.

But added: "I want to see him in Gladiator first.”

Well they’ve kept us waiting long enough now, when are we finally going to find out who the next Bond(s) will be?
