A recent survey shows that Home Alone is Ireland's favourite Christmas movie to watch in front of an open fire. A close second was Miracle on 34th Street, while Elf and Love Actually claimed the 3rd and 4th spots.

What about The Santa Clause? Surely that makes it in before Love Actually?

The survey was carried out by BIC Lighters and also found out Ireland's most desirable fireside cuddle buddies. When asked which Irish male personality they would choose, Rob Kearney was named ahead of Bressie and Jamie Dornan. Also in the top 5 were Chris O'Dowd and Daniel O'Donnell.

Meanwhile, Georgie Penna (Salpa) was considered the most desirable Irish woman to warm up with in front of the fireplace, with Rosanna Davison in second place. Roz Purcell and Laura Whitmore were next on the list.

The survey, carried out as part of BIC’s ‘Cosy Homes’ campaign, explored the various habits and behaviours of the Irish public when it comes to preparing the home come Winter, particularly in the lead up to Christmas.
