He’s absolutely cleaning up this award season!

The BAFTAs took place in London last night and our own Cillian Murphy did us proud as he took home the award for Best Actor In A Leading Role for Oppenheimer.

He beat out fellow Irish man Barry Keoghan for the award, as well as Bradley Cooper (Maestro), Colman Domingo (Rustin), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), and Teo Yoo (Past Lives).

Paul Mescal was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in All Of Us Strangers but lost out to Robert Downey Jr, who scooped up another win for Oppenheimer.

Oppenheimer was the big winner of the night, taking home 7 BAFTAs, including Best Picture and Best Director. It was a big moment for Christopher Nolan as, despite his years of a nominations and critical acclaim for his filmmaking, this was his first BAFTA.

Poor Things, which was co-produced by Irish company Element Pictures, was another big winner on the night, taking home 5 awards including Best Actress for Emma Stone.
