Man Arrested In Relation to €56,000 Covid-19 Payment Fraud

A man has been arrested in Dublin in connection with Covid-19 payment fraud totalling €56,000.

Gardai say the investigation relates to up to 25 separate claims made under the scheme.

The Garda National Economic Crime Bureau searched a house in Mulhuddart today where a man in his 30s was arrested and documentation was seized.

He's currently detained at Blanchardstown Garda Station.

Gardaí from the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB) on secondment at the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (DEASP) special investigations unit carried out the search and arrest operation as part of ongoing investigations into Covid-19 (PUP) payment fraud.
