A woman is in a serious condition after a hit and run in the city last night.
The collision between a pedestrian and an e-scrambler happened on Gardiner Street at 7.30pm, and gardai say the rider left the scene.
The woman in her 60s was taken to the Mater Hospital, and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital.
Gardai say the investigation is continuing.
A garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí are investigating a hit-and-run road traffic collision which occurred at Gardiner Street, Dublin 1, yesterday evening, Thursday 1st May 2025, at approximately 7:30pm.
"A female pedestrian, aged in her 60’s was struck by an electronic scrambler.
"The e-scrambler driver failed to remain at the scene.
"The woman was conveyed to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital, and later transferred to Beaumont Hospital, for treatment of serious injuries.
"The road was closed for technical examination, and has since reopened.
"Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area, yesterday evening, Thursday 1st May 2025, between 6.45pm and 7.45pm, are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
