A Fine Gael Senator's calling on Luas commuters in the city to remove their backpacks.
Neale Richmond says it would help ease congestion on the trams and would make life easier for all passengers.
He says it's a particular problem during rush hour when people get crammed against each other.
Senator Richmond says "London are very pro-active, they've signage quite simply to tell people to, you know if you're on the luas, if you're on the tram, take off your backpack, put it down by your feet, no-one wants to stand there with a backpack in their face".
