"It becomes a theatre on wheels"

Rebecca and Brendan were joined by DoDublin tour guide John McGuirk AKA Johnny Mack on 98FM's Big Breakfast this morning.

He dropped in to give some advice to the guys ahead of their open-top bus tour this Thursday June 16th.

Rebecca and Brendan will be battling it out to see who knows Dublin best, with listeners voting on the tour to decide the winner.

A self-confessed history nerd, Johnny Mack took the plunge to become a tour guide seven years ago, following many years of driving buses around the city and county.

On what makes a good tour guide, Johnny said: "You have to be good with people, you have to be a good listener.

"You have to be able to entertain and interact with your passengers ... when you're doing the tour, it becomes a theatre on wheels."

Johnny said he'll be quick to pull up Rebecca and Brendan over any historical accuracies on the tour - hope they've done their homework!

"You learn something new every day," Johnny said. "There's so much hidden stuff around the city."
