The French Embassy is warning its citizens planning to relocate here that Ireland is experiencing a 'severe housing crisis'.
A note posted on its website notifies soon-to-be students in Irish colleges and other arrivals that there's been a 'sharp increase in rents' and they're more expensive than Paris.
It also warns those looking to study here they must take 'great vigilance' so as not to get scammed by criminals.
The post has been highlighted by the President of the Union Of Students In Ireland, Beth O'Reilly, who says international students have been misled on the availability of accommodation in Ireland.
She says it was something they warned the Higher Education Minister about and she'll be reaching out to more embassies in the coming weeks to encourage them to display similar warnings.
