Investigation Continuing Into Multiple Reports Of Accommodation Fraud In South Dublin

A man has been arrested by Gardaí investigating multiple reports of accommodation fraud.

The alleged incidents are understood to have happened in the South Dublin area last September and October.

The man was taken in for questioning yesterday by Gardaí from the Serious Crime Unit in Irishtown in Dublin.

He's since been released from custody, and a file is being prepared for the DPP.

 

A Garda spokesperson says, "Gardaí from the Serious Crime Unit in Irishtown, Dublin investigating multiple reports of accommodation fraud arrested one male (20s) yesterday, Friday 9th May 2025.

"The alleged incidents of fraud reported to Gardaí by injured parties are understood to have occurred in the South Dublin area over September and October, 2024.

"The male was detained for questioning at a Garda Station in the Eastern Region.

"He has since been released from Garda custody and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

This investigation is ongoing."
