Five People Rescued From House Fire In Tallaght

Five people, including a child, have been rescued from a house fire in Tallaght.

Emergency services received a call at 2.13am today in relation to a domestic fire in Deerpark Drive.

Dublin Fire Brigade staff from Tallaght, Nutgrove, and Dolphin’s Barn along with several ambulances attended the scene where they found a well developed fire with a number of people trapped.

Firefighters with Breathing Apparatus rescued a number of people, including children.

They were treated at the scene before being transferred to St James’ Hospital and Tallaght Hospital, where they are continuing to receive treatment.

A man in his 30s and a teenage boy are currently in a critical condition and a teenage girl is in a serious condition.

A woman in her 40s and young boy are receiving treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

A garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fire at a domestic residence in Deerpark Drive, Tallaght, Co. Dublin, in the early hours of this morning, Thursday, 14th February 2022.

"Gardaí attended the scene at approximately 2.15am. A total of five persons were in the residence at the time of the incident.

"All five were later taken to St James’ Hospital and Tallaght Hospital in Dublin, where they are continuing to receive treatment. A man (30s) and a male youth are currently in a critical condition and a woman (teens) is in a serious condition. A woman (40s) and a male infant are receiving treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening.

"A technical examination of the scene has since been concluded."

A Dublin Fire Brigade spokesperson says: "On 14th of April DFB received a call at 02.13 for a domestic fire in Tallaght.  DFB responded with motors from Tallaght, Nurgrove. & Dolphin’s Barn and 3 DFB ambulances  & 1 ambulance from NAS.

"On arrival at the scene DFB discovered a well developed fire with a number of people trapped.  Firefighters with Breathing Apparatus rescued a number of people including children.

"CPR & First Aid was administered at the scene before removal to the hospital.

"As per normal protocol the scene was handed over to An Garda Siochana."
