Dublin Bus says it plans to have 24-hour bus services running on the main routes heading into the city centre.
The travel company, which was responding to a letter from Dublin West TD Paul Donnelly, says the introduction of round-the-clock buses on the 41 and 15 routes has been a great success.
They were launched last December, running every half an hour between midnight and 5am.
The 41 runs from Lower Abbey Street, on to Dublin Airport, before terminating in Swords. While the 15 starts in Clongriffin, traveling through the city centre and Rathmines before stopping at Ballycullen Road.
The Chief Executive Ray Coyne says the new services will replace the Nitelink, which operates at weekends.
Deputy Donnelly received the update in a response to his request for bus services be extended to 24 hours a day in his area, Dublin 15.
The company says it will look for funding from the NTA for the phased introduction once it returns to some semblance of business as usual after Covid-19.
