253 fewer people were recorded as homeless last month than in October.

8,484 people were in emergency accommodation in November, including nearly 2,500 children.

The total figure for October was 8,737.

1,034 were families – this is down on the previous month of 1,117 families
4,536 were single adults
3,442 were 25-44 years of age
3,925 were male
2,107 were female

There are 4,243 homeless adults in Dublin, and 1,914 children.

Wayne Stanley from The Simon Communities says the drop is welcome, but is partly due to families spending the Christmas time with relatives: "There has been a welcome fall in the number of families in emergency accommodation this month but we have to be cautious as some families are taken in by relatives during the Christmas period. Worryingly the number of single people in homelessness has risen again."
