Details Of €300m Schools Reopening Plan Due Today

A €300 million euro plan to reopen schools will be launched today.

The Irish Independent reports lunch breaks will be staggered, but masks won't be essential in classes when they resume next month.

Primary school pupils will be sectioned off into pods of between four and six children.

There will be a major investment in sanitation and personal protective equipment, and funding for extra teachers.

Teachers Unions of Ireland General Secretary, John McGabhann, wants steps taken in case there's an outbreak of coronavirus;

"Such an outbreak, given that it will take place without prior knowledge, will require an instant response."
