Country music legend Dolly Parton has officially been honoured as a Guinness World Records Icon as part of the organisation’s 70th-anniversary celebrations, recognising her record-breaking career.

At 79, Dolly now holds a whopping 11 Guinness World Records titles—from the most studio albums released by a female country artist, to the longest consecutive decades with top 10 country chart entries, and second most Grammy nominations for a female artist. She was also the first country artist to be nominated for an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony).

Craig Glenday, Guinness World Records’ editor-in-chief, praised her not just for musical achievements, but for her wide-reaching influence—highlighting her philanthropic work, including the Imagination Library which delivers free books to millions of children globally. He called her “a living legend” whose impact goes far beyond music.

The Icon certificate places her among an elite group of honourees including Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney and Elton John. For Dolly, it’s another notch in a career defined by storytelling, generosity, and decades of chart-defining hits.
