Rumours have been causing speculation that Nicky Byrne, could be pegged to represent Ireland in this year's Eurovision contest.
The former Westlife band member recently confirmed that he had stepped back into the studio, to record some new music .
However, RTÉ have not confirmed that he will be heading to Stockholm, Sweden to try and save Ireland from its Eurovision losing streak.
Ireland has not qualified for the Eurovision in 2008, 2009, 2014 and 2015.
A spokesperson for RTÉ has said, "RTÉ will be making an announcement regarding our selection process later this month - all details will appear on rte.ie in due course."
