Elliot Page has come out as transgender.
The actor, who stars in Netflix series Umbrella Academy, took to social media to share the announcement with fans.
Formerly known as Ellen Page, the Juno star wrote: “I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer.
"And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive.
“To all the trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing, abuse, and the threat of violence every day: I see you, I love you, and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better.”

Page has received an outpouring of support since breaking the news.
Umbrella Academy co-star Tom Hopper wrote on Instagram:
Pose star Indya Moore, who is transgender and non-binary, said: “ELLIOT We love you. I love you. Take all the time and space.”
