"Drinking and driving can never be condoned..."
An ad featuring Bruce Springsteen has been removed from YouTube.
Sky News is reporting today that the performer was arrested in November last year and is facing a drink-driving charge.
Springsteen was stopped in a part of the Gateway National Recreation Area in New Jersey on 14th November 2020.
He's being accused of driving under the influence, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in an enclosed area.
The 71-year-old appeared in an ad for Jeep which premiered during Sunday's Super Bowl game.
The brand released a statement reacting to today's news:
Drinking and driving can never be condoned. It would be inappropriate for us to comment on the details of a matter we have only read. But it's also right that we pause our Big Game commercial until the actual facts can be established.
Bruce Springsteen has yet to comment.
