A relative of a boy on trial for murder has told the jury he became "really agitated" when news of the stabbing of a woman at the IFSC came on the radio.

The boy, who can’t be named because he’s under 18, has pleaded guilty to the woman’s manslaughter but denies her murder.

The boy was 14yo when he’s alleged to have murdered Urantsetseg Tserendorj by stabbing her in the neck during an attempted robbery as she made her way home from work at about 9.30 on the evening of January 20th last year.

A relative of his gave evidence today of being in her car with him the following day when news of a woman being seriously injured in a stabbing in the IFSC came on the radio. She said he became really agitated and asked her to take him home.

At home, another relative said he told her that he stabbed someone in the IFSC the day before. She said he told her he didn’t mean to and was going to hand himself in.

The jurors will have to consider his state of mind at the time of the stabbing and whether he intended to kill Ms Tserendorj or cause her serious harm.
