Updated: Bohemians punished for fielding suspended Mandroiu against UCD

UCD have been awarded a 3-0 win over Bohemians after it was found Bohs had fielded an ineligible player in Monday's SSE Airtricity Premier Division game.

The Students won the game 1-0 at Belfield courtesy of an early goal from Yoyo Mahdy. But Danny Mandroiu started in a makeshift forward line for the visitors when he should have been serving a suspension.

An FAI disciplinary committee has awarded UCD a 3-0 win for the game and also imposed an unspecified fine on Bohs. Mandroiu will now serve his suspension in Sunday's Dublin derby with St. Patrick's Athletic at Dalymount Park.

Meanwhile, Bohs captain Derek Pender will also miss that game with Pat's after being found guilty of violent conduct.

Pender and UCD goalkeeper Conor Kearns had a coming-together after the Students stopper exuberantly celebrated their win directly in front of the travelling support. Referee Derek Tomney included the incident in his match report, but didn't brandish a card at the time.

Kearns has also been found guilty and will miss UCD's trip to Shamrock Rovers on Sunday.

The punishments compound what's been a miserable run for Keith Long's side. Monday's defeat was their third top-flight game without a win, and their consecutive game third without a goal.
