Balbriggan Has Highest Rate Of Covid19 In Dublin

Tullamore in county Offaly has a Covid-19 incidence rate almost five times the national average.

A number of areas across the country has a rate of less than five cases per 100,000 people.

Tullamore in Offaly has a rate of 754.5, while the national rate sat on 158.3 when the data was recorded on Monday.

The area is followed by Buncrana in County Donegal, at an incidence rate of 519 cases per 100,000 population.

More areas have an incidence rate of more than 300 including Roscrea-Templemore in Tipperary and Navan in Meath.

In Dublin the area with the highest rate is Balbriggan with a rate of 391, while Galway City Central has 161 cases per 100,000 people.

14 areas in the country have rates of less than five, including Glenties in Donegal, two areas in Leitrim, Galway and Mayo as well as Lismore in Waterford.
