The Taoiseach will join world leaders in Paris to discuss how to tackle the organisation and promotion of terrorism via online platforms.

The joint summit is being hosted by France and New Zealand.

It comes as Facebook has introduced new restrictions on live streaming.

It's in an effort to tackle the sharing of graphic content after the New Zealand shooting was streamed online.

In March, a gunman in Christchurch killed 50 people in an attack on two mosques.

The massacre was lived streamed on Facebook.

Today, New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern will host a summit in Paris alongside French President Emmanual Macron.

The aim is to get countries and tech firms to agree to a pledge to eliminate terrorist content online.

It comes as Facebook has introduced new restrictions on live streaming and the sharing of graphic content.

The move is in direct response to the New Zealand shooting.

Those found to break the rules will be immediately banned from using Facebook Live for up to 30 days.

Under the new policy, the alleged Christchurch shooter would not have been able to live-stream the massacre from his account.
