Met Éireann says it's looking unlikely we will see a white Christmas.
A tropical airflow has caused temperatures to rise significantly today following last week's cold snap.
Temperatures are due to fall back to average values again this week.
Meteorologist with Met Éireann, Michelle Dillon, says they're still not sure about Sunday's weather for Christmas day. But it doesn't look like it will snow;
"Some uncertainty over Christmas but at the moment it looks like staying on the more average temperatures, some wet and windy weather. So at the moment it doesn't look like it."
But she says we could see a few winter flurries straight after Christmas day "maybe into St Stephen's Day, especially in northern parts."
Dublin forecast
It will be windy and cloudy today with outbreaks of showery rain during the morning. Highest temperatures in the early afternoon of 11 to 13 degrees before cooler, drier and brighter conditions extend from the southwest.
Breezy tonight with fresh and gusty southwest winds but largely dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 6 degrees.
Another windy day with sunny spells and scattered showers, some heavy with the possibility of hail. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees.
