Shelley Smith was saved from being booted off The XFactor.  She got the least amount of support on Saturday night's new "Flash Vote" system which gives viewers just 10 minutes to vote for their favourite act.  This meant she had to perform in a sing-off on the Sunday results show with Lorna Simpson, who is also part of Sharon Osbourne's Over 25's category.  However, it all went wrong for Lorna when Louis and Nicole chose to send her home.  Gary Barlow voted to send Shelley Smith home but as her mentor Sharon Osbourne abstained from voting, they had to go with the majority verdict.

Shelly performed Jennifer Hudson's "One Night Only" whilst Lorna sang Faith Hill's "There You'll Be" in their sing-off.

The show have ditched "Deadlock" which forces the judges to decide who goes home in the event of a draw.  From now on, it will always be the act with the lowest amount of votes who will leave the competition.
