Guiliana Rancic stopped by On Air With Ryan. Her popular E! programme Fashion Police has been in disarray ever since the Oscars special where she joked that Zendaya's dreadlocks looked like they might smell of “patchouli oil and weed”. It resulted in both Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin quitting the show.
She spoke to Ryan about the changes at E! Fashion Police saying: "“Look, it was a tough season to do, obviously without Joan Rivers there. She was the driving forced behind Fashion Police. It just didn’t work. There were all sorts of issues right from the beginning. Then when the whole incident happened with the Oscars show … obviously everything imploded form that point on. It’s been sad to watch and it’s been really hard to live through. The past six weeks have been very tough for all of us.”
The show will return to E! in September and Guiliana says “it’s going to be bigger and better than ever". She also discussed her rumoured falling out with Kelly Osbourne. “Honestly, you’d have to ask her,” she insists. “I don’t know. I haven’t spoken to Kelly since the night that show aired … She and I got on the phone and I was like, ‘Kelly what’s going on?’ And she’s like, ‘I don’t know’ … I’ve known Kelly a long time, so obviously she was being very friendly and supporting that night. Then, everything just went crazy from there."
“I will say this though — I don’t want to put words in anyone’s mouth and I don’t want to speak on anyone’s behalf because nothing good can come of that — there were issues from before episode one aired …. there were issues from the beginning, there were people who were unhappy. Who knows why people really quit.”
She spoke about her new book ‘Going Off Script’ where she equally candid about her personal life and career, including dating Jerry O’Connell and how he ended up cheating on her and leaving her for his now-wife, Rebecca Romijn. “Obviously, they were meant to meet,” Guilana says now.
“That’s why I told that whole story. I wanted to show people what’s meant to be will be. Sometimes, that heartache you’re feeling, there’s a reason for it. There’s something great that’s just around the corner and for me, that was Bill.”
Tune in to On Air With Ryan week nights from 9pm on 98FM.
