Leonardo DiCaprio has been nominated for Best Actor four times (not including this year’s nomination for The Revenant) but has never won an Oscar. The Academy Awards take place next Sunday, February 28th in LA and Leo is tipped to finally pick up the gold statue.
Ahead of the Oscars, Dubliners have already started planning celebrations. A Facebook event has been set up by Núria Gómez to try and get people in the city to gather at the Spire if Leo wins the award. The following information was posted in the event:
“In conjunction with other events that will be taking place in Barcelona and Madrid, we decided to host a national gathering in Dublin and show our support for Leo. Spread the word and make this go viral. C'mon, let's go crazy together!
Celebrate the impossible!”

Leo was nominated for an Oscar for his roles in What’s Eating Gilbert (1994), The Aviator (2005), Blood Diamond (2008), and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) but has lost out each year.
