Two People Arrested In Connection With Ballyfermot Murder

Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Michael Tormey in Ballyfermot.

A man in his early 40's and a woman in her late 30's were detained yesterday in connection with the fatal shooting in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The 49 year-old was gunned down in his front garden on Thomond Road.

The father or two was not know to Gardaí and had no links to criminal organisations.

The two people arrested are being held under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at Garda Stations in West Dublin.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone with information to come forward, in particular anyone who may have been in the Thomond Road, Landen Road, Kylemore Road or the general Decies area between 3.30am and 5.30am on the morning of Sunday 9th January 2022.
