Star Trek is making it's way back to the small screen in 2017.
The popular franchise which began back in the 60's is set for a reboot. The most popular of the series in Ireland would have been 'The Next Generation' in the 80's, 'Deep Space Nine' in the 90's and then 'Voyager' in the late 90's/early 00's. They were a must watch in most Irish households.
There was a movie reboot in 2009, with Chris Pine, Simon Pegg, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana. They're currently in post-production of a third installment, Star Trek Beyond, which is due out next year.
The producer of that movie, Alex Kurtzman, is in board to work on the new TV series which is expected to air in January 2017.
