Boy George will not be returning as a coach on The Voice when the show starts on ITV next year.

He tweeted to confirm the news and to send his love to Will.i.am, who will be back in one of the famous spinning chairs.

It's not yet known if Ricky Wilson or Paloma Faith - who were also coaches when the show was on the BBC - will be returning.

Yesterday, will.i.am announced he's returning as a coach on the brand new series of The Voice UK.

The Black Eyed Peas star, who has also signed up to take part in spin-off show The Voice Kids, released a statement confirming his return.

"I'm delighted to be continuing The Voice UK on ITV and being a voice of direction and guidance for the usual suspects," he said. "And I'm thrilled to add The Voice Kids to the mix.

"I know The Voice switched to ITV, but I'm not going to BREXIT The Voice UK. I'm happy to make ITV my home now. I love the UK."

Meanwhile, Emma Willis recently confirmed she will be back as host of The Voice UK. Former JLS star Marvin Humes is not returning to his hosting duties.
