Former Coronation Street actor Adam Rickitt is joining Hollyoaks.

The 38-year-old will make his debut next month as Kyle, a man who's living with multiple sclerosis.

He says he's "really happy" to have got the gig and the soap's storylines are "amazing".

Adam made his soap debut in Coronation Street back in the 90s when he played Nick Tilsley.

That is to say a slightly older version of Nick than there had been until then, but a younger version of the current Nick.

His character got with Leanne Battersby much to the disgust of Gail Platt.

Adam was clearly a fan of the gym.

That's us trying to say he was ripped when he was a young fella without sounding too pervy. (We were his age at the time, so that's how we know).

Long before there was Heat magazine's "Torso of the Month", he used to be a regular on the poster pages of magazines like Sugar and Bliss (remember them!?).

So when he left Coronation Street his management team clearly saw it befitting that he get naked and sit in a glass box, for the 90s CHOON that was 'Breathe Again.'

Lookit Rickitt, it was so bad it's good. They literally don't make 'em like that anymore.
