Three men are being treated for their injuries in hospital following separate New Year's Day attacks in Dublin's City Centre.

The first happened on Aston Quay, shortly before one o'clock on Sunday afternoon.

A man in his 30s was taken by ambulance to hospital after the assault, where he is being treated for serious injuries.

Gardaí have sealed off the scene at Aston Quay for an examination, and no arrests have been made.

Meanwhile, Gardaí in the capital are also investigating a separate incident in which two men were attacked.

The men, both aged in their 20s, were seriously assaulted on Anne's Lane at around 11:20PM on New Year's Day.

The pair were brought to St. James' Hospital where they were treated for their injuries.

In a follow up search of the area, two other men, aged in their early 20s, were stopped by Gardaí and arrested.

Both men have since been charged in relation to the assault and are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice.

Investigations into both attacks are ongoing.
