Taoiseach And British Prime Minister Meet In Dublin

Boris Johnson's paid a flying visit to Dublin for talks on Brexit with Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar.

In a joint statement, both leaders said they reached some common ground, but discussions are at an early stage.

The Taoiseach says significant gaps remain between Britain and the EU when it comes to Brexit.

They met for more than an hour in the city this morning.

Leo Varadkar wasn't expecting massive progress to be made and the two leaders said there are still significant gaps between their viewpoints.

The Taoiseach stressed the importance of the backstop.

Campaign group Border Communities against Brexit held a demo on Molesworth Street.
