Users flock to apps like Tinder, Bumble, and PlentyOfFish on the first Sunday of the new year, with activity shooting up by as much as 20 per cent.
This day last year, Tinder saw a 26 per cent global increase in matches made, and a 41 per cent global increase in downloads.
In addition, there was a 27 per cent global increase in conversations started compared to the previous week.
This day two years ago, Tinder users racked up a whopping 44 million matches.
