Win In Paris Will Be Bigger Than 2000

Jonny Sexton isn’t too concerned about the remains of previous Irish teams lying in that rugby graveyard in Paris.

The Irish outhalf was informed of Brian O'Driscoll's comments after his Lansdowne farewell reminding fans that Ireland have only won once in Paris in 42 years.

"It just shows how difficult it is to win there, that's all that it shows us," came the outhalf's reply.

"In many ways the pressure's off because the expectations are (low), we won once in 42 years and picked up a draw along the way, but we have a chance to go and make history now."

Sexton feels that a victory this Saturday in the city where he's currently residing would be even bigger than the last one in 2000 when O'Driscoll burst onto the scene with that incredible try hat-trick.

"I think it'll eclipse what they did in 2000, or whatever year they won, because there's something on the line. If we win we pick up a trophy. When they won they had nothing to play for so I think this would be an even greater victory if we can do it."
