UFC to host long-awaited event in Dublin this August

The UFC have announced that they will host a Fight Night in Dublin for the first time in over four years this summer.

It'll take place at the 3 Arena on August 15th with tickets going on sale for what will be the organisation's fourth-ever card in Ireland on Friday, June 26th.

No fights have yet been confirmed.

Former two-weight world champion Conor McGregor defeated Diego Brandao on his return from injury at the venue in 2014, though "The Notorious" is unlikely to be part of August's card.

The most recent Dublin Fight Night saw Paddy Holahan headline against Louis Smolka in 2015 while the organisation's first event in the Republic of Ireland was UFC 93 in 2009.

"We kicked off the year with a phenomenal comeback from Conor McGregor at UFC 246, and now we are thrilled to announce our return to Ireland after four-years," said the UFC's Senior Vice President, International and Content, David Shaw.

With Irish fans amongst the most passionate MMA supporters in the world, and Dublin being such an iconic global city, we can’t wait to put on another world-class event for our fans there.
