Day 5 of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games saw Dubliner Annalise Murphy give Team Ireland a much needed morale boost. Here's what we have to look forward to on Day 6 today...

GOLF

Finally! After all of the controversy building up to the event, the Olympic golf gets underway at 11:30 Irish time and Team Ireland will be represented by Dubliner Padraig Harrington and Waterford born Seamus Power.

BOXING

Stephen Donnelly was in top form last Sunday and the Ballymena man is back in the ring for his last-16 bout in the Welterweight division against Mongolia's Byambyn Tüvshinbat at 16:45.

HOCKEY

The Irish men's hockey team will be hoping to get their first Pool B win under their belt after defeats to India, the Netherlands and Germany. They face Canada at 15:00 with the slimmest of chances of making the quarter-finals.

BADMINTON

Chloe Magee makes her Rio 2016 bow in the preliminary rounds of the Women's Singles against Germany's Karin Schnaase at 13:00.

SWIMMING

Shane Ryan will race in Lane 6 for Heat 6 of the 50 Metre Freestyle at 17:12.

ROWING

After the Lightweight Women's Double Sculls and Lightweight Men's Double Sculls were cancelled yesterday due to bad conditions - Dubliner Claire Lambe and Sinead Lynch will race at 13:00 before Gary and Paul O'Donovan go out at 13:10.

RES - Women’s 200m Breaststroke – Fiona Doyle: 2nd in Heat 1 with 2:29.76

BOXING

Men’s Light Heavy (81kg) – Joe Ward: Round of 16 *subject to qualification.
