There are a few rule changes for the International Rules Series ahead of the single test between Ireland and Australia in Perth in November.

Goalkeepers must now kick the ball out beyond the 45 metre line after all wides, behinds and overs. It's to allow more contested marks and if the keeper doesn't kick it over the 45 metre line will result in a free kick to the opposition.

The number of consecutive handpasses allowed has been raised from 4 to 6 while marks have been eliminated for kicks backwards so the ref will call play on if it happens.

There'll also be more interchanges per quarter.
