Roy Keane tried to confront Aston Villa midfielder Tom Cleverley at his home, the former Villa assistant manager believed Cleverley was responsible for stories alleging Keane had a bust-up with players.

According to 'The Sun' Keane turned up at the England international’s gated and walled residence in Cheshire earlier this week and began "furiously pressing the doorbell".

The Republic of Ireland assistant manager quit as Aston Villa assistant last month, at the time blaming the difficulty of holding down two jobs.

Stories of dressing room unrest followed his departure, but the club denied that a bust-up led to Keane's departure. Keane received no answer at the Cleverley residence, he left after a short time but has reportedly been caught on CCTV.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has confirmed Roy Keane did turn up at Cleverley's house this week, but Lambert says the incident was blown out of proportion by the media.
